I couldn’t walk, but he refused to leave my side and take cover. He carried me to safety, and then at the last moment, he was shot in the back of the head. We had 2 weeks of service left. MMT

Today, I realized the unconditional love I have for my 4-year-old son when I didn’t strangle him after I spent 15 minutes drenching myself outside in the freezing cold sleet and snow looking for his favorite action figure that he thought he left in the backyard, but instead turned out to be lost in the back pocket of his pants. Today, I proposed to a girl who was hospitalized with me for suicide when we were 14. She told me that my positivity in the hospital helped her to get better. We ended up going to the same college, and when I fell into depression a few semesters ago she was there for me like I was for her 7 years ago. (BTW, she said yes!) MMT

Today, I was walking home from school when I passed an elderly man trying to pick up his cane he had dropped on the ground. There was a middle aged man who saw him but didn't do anything, and as I was walking over to help him a toddler, maybe 3 years old, walked over and handed the man his cane. Then the both of them just stared at each other for a moment and smiled. MMT

Today, I lost my iPhone downtown. About a hour later, my home phone rang with a call from my iPhone. The guy asked me to meet back downtown so he could give me my iPhone back. When I got there it turned out that the guy who found my phone was my high school sweetheart who I hadn't seen in almost 7 years. We ended up chatting for over 2 hours and have a date Saturday night. Today, an elderly man walked out of the grocery store just in front of me, reached into his pocket and handed a homeless street peddler a $50 bill. The elderly man said, "Happy holidays." The homeless peddler began crying with joy. In fact, I've never seen a grown man cry so joyously ever before in my life. MMT

Today, early in the AM, a friend went into the emergency room in labor 2 months early and another friend was in a severe car accident. The doctors initially said there was less than a 25% chance of survival in both cases. My friends and I spent our entire Friday praying and hoping. Tonight, both of them appear to be in stable condition. MMT
