Today, as I approached the door to my dad's 48th birthday party, I considered turning back before being seen. But he looked so happy with his new wife and friends all gathered in his honor. So I chose to enter with a smile. I don't regret it. I have not had so much fun with my dad since I was a kid. MMT

Today, I almost screamed at her again for treating her children like she does. It just irritates me that she doesn’t love them the way I would love my kids if I was able to have them. MMT

Today, I was at the beach and saw a woman painting. The art was beautiful and I complimented her, but she just smiled and pointed to her other artwork nearby. They were all beautiful. I asked her how long she had been painting, but she just pointed to her ears, then her mouth and shook her head. MMT

Today, my parents told me that I tried to drown myself when I was 12. I even wrote a suicide note. I lost part of my memory when I tried, so I don't remember everything. But they said I was almost successful. I'm 22 now, and I consider myself to be an extremely happy person. I cannot imagine what made me want to die 10 years ago.

Today, I saw a little girl in a wheelchair struggling to wheel it up a ramp. I pushed her chair up the ramp and she thanked me. Her mother then came running up behind me, with a cell in one hand and a coffee in the other and screamed, "Get away from her! She can handle herself just fine!" MMT

Today, when I slipped on the wet tile floor a boy in a wheelchair caught me before I slammed my head on the ground. He said, “Believe it or not, that’s almost exactly how I injured my back 3 years ago.” MMT

Today, 9 months after I was laid off from the factory I’ve worked at for the last 26 years, I received a knock on the door from a bank rep. They’re repossessing my house. Tomorrow, I’ll be homeless. MMT

Today, I gave my 8-yr-old son a couple dollars to pay off his balance with the school cafeteria. This evening he informed me that he has been skipping lunch. When I asked him where his lunch money is he told me, "There's a jar at school for homeless kids. I wanted to help them." MMT
