Today, I came out on Facebook and I received nothing but positive comments and phone calls from all of my friends and family. MMT

Today, I was at the theater with my girlfriend, waiting in a long line to get popcorn and drinks. A man on crutches was walked up to the line and was standing off to the side. I offered to let him in front of us. At the end of his order, he tacked on a second large bag of popcorn and two sodas told the cashier it was for the couple behind him. MMT

Today, at the beach near the condo where I live, I saw a very elderly couple (likely in there mid 80's) in workout gear walking slowly but steadily down the beach. They were laughing and teasing each other about who would beat who to the pier. Elderly people like them who never give up on life and love MMT.

Today, the best man in my wedding is that random guy that sat next to me on a red-eye flight home from Boston to LA back in the fall of 2000. MMT

Today, I was sitting in the window seat in row 16 of the airplane waiting for everyone else to board when a guy came up, kissed the woman sitting next to me and asked me, “Do you mind switching seats with me so I can sit next to my wife?” I said, “sure.” Turns out he was a frequent flyer and his seat was up in first class. MMT

Today, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. He was the smart, quiet guy I used to pick on in grade school. I was so mean back then. And I have no idea how he forgave me, but he did. When we met again after college 6 years later, I apologized, he swept me off my feet, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. MMT

Today, after nearly a lifetime apart, living on two different continents, separated by an ocean and our own spouses who sadly both passed away from cancer in the last 5 years, we decided to see each other. He traveled to me. And he instantly reminded me of true love, how he made me feel at 18, and that no one had ever truly been able to measure up since. MMT

Today, one of my 2nd grade students came up to me and said, “Ms. Jansen, I think you’re really pretty. I like your hair and eyes and smile. But you also listen to my stories and help me so much when I need it. And that’s what really makes you the prettiest lady I know. MMT

Today, when I asked my 5th grade class what they wanted to be when they grow up, a student in the front sincerely said, “I want to be just like you.” MMT

Today marks a year since my parents forced me to break up with my boyfriend due to the 4 year age difference between us. My father told me I’d have to wait a year until I was 18 to date him. So my boyfriend and I have been nothing more than best friends for a year, but we stayed committed and today, on my 18th birthday, we started dating again. MMT

Today, after I kissed my 5-year-old son on the cheek it looked like he wiped it off. So I asked him, “Why are you wiping off my kisses?” He giggled and replied, “I’m not! I’m rubbing them in so I can keep them all day long!” MMT

Today, while I was at the nursing home I volunteer at once a week, an old lady I care for said, "I can't believe I'm turning 90 tomorrow. At least that's what my doctor told me. Well, I've had a nice life, I mean, except for the deaths. But it's nice to know that I'll have friends waiting for me in Heaven." MMT

Today, after 2 years of separation, my ex-wife and I resolved our differences and met for dinner. We laughed and chatted for almost 4 hours. Then just before she left, she handed me a large envelope. In it were 20 love letters she wrote me over the last 2 years. There was a post-it note on the envelope that said, “Letters that I was too stubborn to send.” MMT
