Today my Yorkshire Terrier is two months shy of his 20th birthday (rather amazing). When I adopted him 10 years ago, directly from the negligent neighbors who had locked him in their backyard, a veterinarian told me that he was so unwell with kidney failure and other problems that he only had a month, at the outside, to live. I loved him and he loved me back... I don't know which love saved him, but he's going strong. His obvious joy, each and every day, MMT.

Today, I returned home from a deployment overseas in the Marine Corps. My first order of business was to visit my mom in the hospital. She went into a coma three weeks ago after suffering from a stroke. Within an hour of me arriving at the hospital and talking to her – telling her stories of my overseas experiences – she woke up.
