Today, the man that saved my life 28 years ago when he singlehandely fought off three other men who were trying to rape me, walks with a cane due to the leg injury he suffered by doing so. And he looked so proud today when he put down his cane and slowly walked our daughter down the aisle. MMT

Today, nearly a year after her suicide, four different people posted comments on her Facebook wall telling her how wonderful she was. Since her death, there have been over 1200 comments like these left on her Facebook wall. Before her death, there were hardly any. MMT

Today, at work a girl of maybe eight or nine was sitting next to our shop dog and happily talking to him, as many kids do. Then I saw her parents standing a few steps away holding hands anxiously, with tears of joy in their eyes. It turns out that their daughter is severely autistic and this was the first time they had ever heard her speak in full sentences. Simple things not being so simple MMT.

Today, I was looking through the Facebook remembrance groups of two people that died from my high school. The girl was sweet, smart, quiet and unpopular. She was killed by a drunk driver. The guy was inconsiderate, rude and popular. He was the drunk driver. His group has 602 members. Hers has 48. MMT

Today, a random guy I’ve never met before carried me back to my dorm and did everything in his power to make sure I was okay after someone drugged me at a college party this afternoon. He even went into my iPhone and called my friends listed in my favorites to come look after me. I don’t remember anything, but I know that without his help I could have died. MMT

Today, as I was panicking and fighting an Asthma attack because of the large grease fire I caused in the dorm room kitchen area, my roommate woke up from a dead sleep, calmly walked into the kitchen half asleep, extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher and went back to bed without saying a word. Today, my teammate broke his arm during our first game of the season. It was actually his first game in 2 years after the doctor told him that he would never play again because of knee surgery. I spoke to him later thinking he would be upset. He smiled and said, “Those 15 minutes on the field were once only a dream.” MMT
