Feeling bad due to circumstances is not the same as depression. The more people reach out to each other, the fewer diagnoses.
Me and my best friend are both like that, being around him always makes me smile, he makes me feel calm. I try to do that same, though I don't have such that effect for him, I wish I could do as much for him as he does for me. Knowing that we both suffer, whether it is quite depression or not, helps so much. There is always some person which helps so much more than everyne else put together, and it makes everything so much better, and makes you love your best friend even more.
