Makes Me Think - Today, I had a long talk with a beautiful friend who recently admitted to a group of us that she comes from an abusive home. We were sitting quietly after she finished telling a gruesome story. "You know," she said after a second. "It's weird to tell the truth after all these years. I'm so used to lying to protect my family, but now, I don't have to hide who I am and what I've been through. It's weird that people care. But I like it." MMT
