There is nothing more rewarding than helping an animal learn to trust. When they show you love like that, unlike people, there's no way they're faking it. It's what keeps me going back to my job at the animal shelter every single day.

gah. But yes, I do know how this feels too. I just love how animals can love so unconditionally even when they've had hard, awful lives. It warms my heart.
