Makes Me Think - Today, my elderly next door neighbor, who I’ve helped with odds and ends over the years, passed away from old age. I got a call this afternoon from her estate attorney. She left me $73,000 in cash - the exact amount of debt I have from recent medical bills after I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle in the city a few months ago. Apparently, my neighbor found out about my debt by overhearing my phone conversations with bill collectors (I keep my windows open, and so does she). MMT
