Today, I posted this on Facebook, miraculously found him through a friend of a friend of a friend, and treated him to a five course dinner: “To the young man who stopped at Starbucks last Tuesday and was brave enough to start CPR on me when I fell to the floor, unconscious: Because of your quick thinking and swift action, I am going to recover from my seizure with almost no complications. If we ever meet again, I owe you dinner.” MMT

This is really sweet, and it's really cool that you found him through Facebook, but just for future reference, you may want to check your state's Good Samaritan laws. In many states, it's illegal to offer any kind of compensation to a layperson offering medical help (it opens them up to being sued in case there are complications). Anyway, just an fyi. Glad you're going to be OK, and kudos to the young man for quick action!

Emmy is right. And it sucks. There's also laws that say it would have been his fault for touching you if something had gone wrong during the event. A guy goes out of his way to help you, might go to jail right off the bat because of it, and you can't buy him a dinner cause you might be able to use it to sue him later. Sheesh.

Especially because CPR is not necessary for a seizure.
