you are so awesome, and this is so inspiring!! thanks for sharing...you make me think too!
Ok, so you're not ugly, fat, or stupid, and you feel that it's important to let the bully know you're not. Where is the lesson in that? You say ugly and fat don't matter because of inner beauty but you make sure to say you're not. Hypocrisy, maybe?
Horsefeathers has a point here. Why decry someone for belittling your physical attractiveness right before suggesting physical beauty is irrelevant?
I think the words "stupid, fat, and ugly" imply something not just about physical attractiveness but about inner attractiveness as well. Saying someone is ugly (and of course stupid) means that you hate who they are inside, not just how they look. I think this story is completely valid.
Ignore all of the posts that are saying hypocrite or anything like that. You stood up for yourself and that is an inspiration to me and thank you so much for making me think!
Maybe the posts missed your point that stupid and ugly are subjective terms and cannot insult you if you don't belive them. What if you said, so what if I'm fat? Inner beauty matters most! Shifting your retort from denial to indifference makes your story more powerful. This reminds me of the fb chain status "they make fun of him for being fat, but what they don't know is, he has a thyroid condition," like ok whatever he would deserve the bullying if he ate too much. nobody deserves bullying.
