I hope you, and other people after reading this, will realize that it's these "nerdy people" are the most trustworthy and caring people. Too few people do, leaving the good guys/girls sadly alone.

Nerds have somewhat crappy social skills.. my best guess is that he is a geek.. Geeks are so sexy; brainy, funny and caring.. for their computers, girls, whatever they like.. I'm proud to be a Geek :)

This happened to me too. and now he's one of my best friends. It's kind of sad how people assume that just because you're a girl and he's a guy he'll fall in love with you and you'll reject him. Life doesn't always have to be a cliche, this could just be the start of an amazing friendship :)

@ i DbL 001 What you said was mean. She was looking to talk to FRIENDS and couldn't find any on or available so she talked to him instead. She didn't go looking for a guy.
maybe i'm just a glass is half empty kind of person but all I can think about is that, yah super nice you made a best friend, buuuut ever gonna date that guy? one of the most painful things a man can endure is to be a shoulder to cry on, to be that friend, not the boyfriend. pain you'll never know

Why should any friendship or "touching moment" with a member of the opposite sex either be motivated by romance or lead up to one? Why must kindness have an ulterior motive? Who cares if he's secretly in love with her, she's not obligated to like him back and neither is he a glutton for punishment.

The sad thing is this nerdy guy may never have had a girlfriend before. its true for most nerdy guys in high school, we remain overlooked because we dont want to make a mistake and seem sexist or offensive or face conflict at least thats true for me. we "nerdy" guys are often the most sensitive, the most caring and often the best listeners and problem solvers. we care less about a woman's looks because we usually have low self esteem. hopefully people learn from this. hopefully you'll all see that sad shy kid hanging out with his girlfriend and see him smiling inside and out.
