Today, as soon as my 5-year-old baby brother came into my room, I yelled at him to get out without even looking up at him. When he didn't listen and I turned around to yell again, I noticed he had a bowl of cherries (my favorite) in his hands. He said, "Sorry, I just wanted to share these with you." MMT

Aww, I hope you gave him a hug after you saw the cherries.

Appreciate the little things in life...

Made me teary eyed. Very thoughtful young man...

I know exactly how you felt. Things like this have happened between me and my younger sister all my life.

I have done this too with my baby brother. This made me really emotional and I started to cry; I can't believe I have been so cruel. I feel like a failure as a Parental figure ... :'(

this really has made me think... :/ me and my little brother are the same :( i feel like such a bastard now :(

i'm moved by this

this happened so many times with me and my baby sister what happened to being innocent? :

Why are people jerks to little kids to begin with? Not cool.

I am the oldest of three and my little brother is the last one at home and I go back to my parents any weekend I can just to hang out with him because even though he is 15, a star athlete, popular, and a musician he likes to just spend time on his own so he rarely goes out with friends. (which is fine with me my brother is amazing! he doesn't need to be doing the things guys were doing when I was his age) I go home to spend time with him and no matter what is going on with him anytime he sees me he just gives me a big hug. Whenever I am late driving home he will ask my mom when I am getting there. For a 15 year old boy he is one of the coolest guys I have ever met. The other weekend we went to see a movie with some friends of mine and during a conversation about virginity he said that he was proud of me for still keeping mine. :) nothing has made me want to stay like this till I am married more then hearing my little brother say that!

I don't know why, but no matter how many times I read this, it manages to make me cry every single time

This kid speaks well for a 5 year old.

Growapair, you obviously aren't an older sibling. Kids get on your nerves, and you don't get free time all the time. Sometimes you snap. I am, and I know how this is. And it actually does MMT.

This reminds me of the time I thought my sister was trying to wake me up when I was sleeping, I threw up my arm to push her away and it was my baby brother, :( after that I never done anything like that while sleeping.

Unfortunately I've behaved in the same manner towards my little brother before when all he wanted was to share something with me or talk..always makes me feel terrible :(

This story made me think in the sense that I have a younger sister who means the world to me. We never really got into big fights (sure we would argue, but nothing too major) in fact... the worst thing she ever did was one time she locked me out of the house in the rain because I wouldn't lock our dog in the garage. We laugh about it now. But I never treated my sister like that, and I hope this experience helped show you how important your brother is to you. And I hope you enjoyed the cherries. :-)
