Today, at 1PM, I walked by a long line of 'less fortunate' people patiently waiting in line in the freezing cold at a soup kitchen near my neighborhood. As I passed by, I noticed the sign on the front door said, "Opens at 5PM." MMT

So...you walked by, letting them wait for 4 hours in the cold, and decided to help by posting about it on a blog? And you are shocked at the nature of humanity when even you who notice such harshness don't lift a finger to help others.

Why is "less fortunate" in quotation marks?

There are alot of assumtions going on in the first comment. Do you know this person? Do you know if in their life they've ever helped people who are less fortunate. You only know what this person chooses to tell you, so you really don't know anything about them. You have no idea if after they saw this they decided to go help them. About the blog, it seems sad how much people go through to get food in this world, especially in this world where there seems to be an excess amount of food made for those who can afford it. I know when I grow up and get a job I'll try my best to help these people.

They're homeless... What the fuck else do they have to do?
