i feel the same exact way!! He's Indian and im Catholic and I dont think we will ever become "official"

If you love each other that much then just go with it. I'd rather be with the one I love and be shunned for being rebellious than be miserable all my life.

The only problem is that sometimes the cultural barriers are such that one of those people will never get to talk to their family again if they choose to be with that other person. It sucks, but it's true.
Actually, something similar happened with my uncle. His family is strictly Jewish, and when they found out he was planning to marry my aunt (a Methodist) they said if he did that he would no longer be welcome in their home. He did a lot of soul-searching, and ended up marrying her. Don't know if this is at all similar to your situation, OP, but I hope one way or another things work out for the best.

#4 - it doesn't explicitly say they're gay, and even if that is the case, there are quite a lot of people who do care. Why else would gay marriage not be legal nationally and why are there hate crimes on a daily basis throughout the country, and why are people kicked out of their homes because their parents are too ashamed to have a homosexual child? It's not right, but it's the truth.

my Mexican family member secretly dated a girl from Jordan for years. This was a big deal and bigger in her family. They got married 3 yrs ago and they are expecting there first born son next month-and everyone in both families has accepted both backgrounds. its worth the risk!
