Today, my parents are two of the biggest homophobes I know. And I’m 16 and I’m gay. But they don’t know it yet. MMT

Are you male or female? I'm a lesbian and my dad is a baptist minister, so it was kind of hard for me to come out, too. If you need someone to talk to, let me know.

I wish you the best of luck when you decide to come out to them :).

How could they not know you're 16?!

@dave_newtown: perhaps they lied about his birthday to him because they didn't want anyone to know when he was conceived, & they don't know he knows he's 16!

Wow, it's really mature to make fun of the OP's phrasing. Especially when he's in an incredibly difficult situation, I bet reading your comments really brightens his day. I know it's confusing for you OP, but you seem like a strong person. I know it's hell to be closeted, but in some cases, it's absolutely necessary. I hate that there are hateful people out there, but it's something all of us will have to come to terms with eventually. I just had a friend come out to his religious mother and she took it really well, so there is hope for us. Maybe someday it will be accepted. -17 year old (out) lesbian

I'm a 16 year old lesbian with homophobic asian parents. It was really hard, don't worry, you're not alone. My mother seems to treat me differently now, more restrictions here and there. If they REALLY love you, and I mean REALLY love you, you being gay shouldn't change what they feel about you. A human likes another human, is that so strange? We love you and support you, good luck.

I truely hope this helps. http://bdgatorfan.blogspot.com/
