Today in Spanish class, my teacher asked everyone to take turns telling the class why they've chosen to learn Spanish. The 16 year old pregnant girl that sits in front of me seriously said, "My baby is half Mexican, and I want to be able to understand it when it's born." MMT

this is the stupidest thing I have ever read. It's not enlightening, it's not intellectual it's just plain stupid. Why learn a language that your baby will clearly not being speaking as soon as it's popped from your cervix? It can grow up learning whatever language you speak. This is so stupid. There's a reason why she's 16 and pregnant.

yeah i was about to say the same thing the baby isn't going to know spanish when it is born, im sure that baby will never even learn spanish

I agree ^ I am half mexican, i wish my mom would have took the time to learn spanish and teach it to me. Then maybe i would feel more like i belong to something, instead of being borderline on life.

I don't mean to be rude, but I'm 99% sure this never happened. I've heard different variations of this joke quite a few times.

The world is made up of billions of people with varying degrees of intelligence & life experiences. It is very possible this actually happened and more than once. That being said, this still kills me. /dead
