Today, I wonder if the people around me who don't have cancer realize how lucky they are. MMT

My dad passed away over two years ago from cancer. Even though I don't have it, I thank God everyday for being healthy. Words from my dad: "If I had a magic wand to get rid of all this cancer, I wouldn't do it. It has brought my family closer together."

Probably not, unfortunately. We could all use a reminder to count our blessings. But that includes you, too. Remember your family and friends who are there for you throughout this, be glad you're living in a place where you have access to good treatment, be thankful for all the years you've lived so far, and be hopeful you'll live for many more. Best of luck! I'll keep you in my prayers.

I've lost 3 of my 4 grandparents to cancer, so I am thankful everyday for my remaining family's health and my own. I wish you the best. NO ONE deserves cancer.

Sadly most people don't. I am dating a man who smokes and dips, and it kills me to know that he will get cancer when he is older. But my friends keep telling me that we will all get cancer eventually and to just forget it. They don't understand what it's like to watch your family members die from cancer. I wish you better times and happiness in your life.

And you're lucky to not be starving in Africa. There's always someone worse off than yourself. But, everybody has their own battle to fight, and each is equally valid.
