Today, I woke up from surgery to find out that the surgeons had to remove both of my ovaries due to infected cysts. I never really thought about having children until now – the moment I no longer have a choice. MMT

Sigh. You can still have children if you want to, through adoption or foster parenting or partnering with someone who already has kids. Think of it this way, whichever biological condition that led to the early removal of your ovaries will never be passed on to your family.

I agree with Lichen. You could adopt, or even use a donor's egg(s) if you really want to experience pregnancy and childbirth. All is not lost.

@lichen: Hear, hear. There are still choices out there for you. Consider deciding whether you even wanted biological children before you mourn the loss of them.

I agree with the above comments! Look at it this way. If you decide you would really like to be a mother you could definitely adopt, and you could end up saving a child from a foster home. Everything happens for a reason.

It's great for her to look at the positives. But come on..not everyone wants to adopt. Some people want to have the choice to have biological children. Her wanting that isn't "sigh" worthy.
