A similar thing happened to me in 1999. Just before my father passed he told me he loved me for the first time and I was 43 years old. It meant a lot to me.
My father quite often tells me he loves me.... But I haven't come out to him yet... And I'm deeply afraid all of that will change once I do...
Jreed, your father loves you and wants to make sure you know you how much he loves you. Whilst you're scared that he might not love you, I imagine that he's scared that you might forget he loves you.
