Today, it's only been three months since you passed away. Our son is a year and six months old and would rather play with your dog tags then his numerous toys. His first word was Dad, and his clothes are camo. He only wants toy soldiers for Christmas and when I hear him playing he names the toys Dad. He thinks you're going to surprise him by showing up one day. And deep inside I am too. MMT.

Don't worry honey I'll still surprise you yet, but don't raise our kid to be some redneck soldier! Remember in times like these, it's "than" not "then".

@commentor .... Really? I agree grammar is important, but there's a time and a place. And tact, of course. Posing as a dead man to chide a grieving woman sure makes you a big man.

Dear Anonymous, I don't know you and I don't know the right words, but I just wanted to ease your pain. I am so sorry for your and your child's lost. I hope that time will heal you. Thank you for allowing your husband to defend this country so that so many of us very grateful citizens can live our lives freely. Rest in peace soldier! @commentor- The best choice is peace and no war, but we don't live in a perfect world. Soldiers didn't sign up to simply fight. They sign up to protect and serve. Don't confuse the two.

@Janie - He was being a dick and correcting the OP's grammar. He's not confused, he's just a jackass.
