Today, as my 6 year relationship with my boyfriend of another race comes to an end because of family disapproval at both ends, I can only think of all the times my parents told me to treat everyone equally when I was a child. MMT

I had a similar problem. My family disapproved of my relationship. I warned them if they tried to make me choose between my girlfriend and them, they wouldn't like the results. Today, my wife and I have been married over 20 years. We have 4 children. My family has never seen my children since I put the restraining order on them 17 years ago. They lost. The sad part is, I don't know if they really regret it. When you marry someone, it's supposed to be for life. I only lived with my family for 18 years. If you still love the other person, and they still love you - prove it. Give your families ultimatums, then follow through. The only regrets I have are that my family is so selfish that they have given up on me because they would rather keep their hatred.

If you give up on this relationship, you will lose all the way around. Not only are you losing someone you obviously love, you will end up resenting your family fro being the cause of that loss. True love is worth fighting for.
