Today, I look at people around me who chain smoke, binge on drugs, drink too much and don't seem to care at all about their health. Then I think about my best friend, a sporty high school athlete, who died from cancer age fifteen. She was beautiful, smart and spirited. The sense of injustice still MMT.

This is the most pretentious piece of trash post I've ever seen on this website. How the fuck do you know that the people who don't drink a lot and chain smoke or whatever else you care so much about aren't "beautiful, smart and spirited?" Get over yourself.

The way you call this injustice makes you seem like you believe that there's someone in the clouds pulling all these strings. Hell, I want to be a nurse but I don't believe we should save everyone. If someone is deathly ill, whether it be from drugs or natural illness, obviously they are more susceptible to fatal illness and should be wiped from the gene pool. Nature isn't kind. How someone dies doesn't always reflect who they were as a person.

Thank you for reminding me that people with addictions don't deserve to live, I'll be sure to remember that for the future.

It sucks your friend died, but I'm not excited about how you've brought other people with their own issues, demons, history, etc. into it. Celebrate your friend, but maybe consider not being so judgmental when it comes to people you seem to "disapprove" of.

Thank you for the lovely reaction. As a sixteen year old girl who lost her best friend I really appreciated that. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, and I just want to make it clear that I wasn't trying to insinuate that my friend had more of a right to live than someone with an addiction. I'm sorry if it sounded that way- and when I spoke about people who drink too much etc, I didn't mean those suffering from alcoholism. I actually was referring to people, like a lot of my friends, who drink too much for 'fun'. I don't 'disapprove' of anyone suffering, or with an addiction at all and I'm not some silly 'pretentious' little girl who knows nothing about real life. All I was saying was that I find life unfair.
