Makes Me Think - Today, I work in the office at the county courthouse where people come to change their legal name (usually after a marriage). This afternoon a 20-something came in to change his middle name, which is unusual. In the section of the court form that asks for a reason for the name change, he wrote, “All six of my siblings have a middle name, but mine comes from the man who set the fire that killed my mom in her sleep last week.” MMT
