Today, I'm lonely. And I'm lonely in some horribly deep way and for a flash of an instant, I can see just how lonely, and how deep this feeling runs. And it scares me to be this lonely because it seems catastrophic. And yet, I live in one of the most populous cities in the world with my husband, kids, and dogs. MMT

I think I understand how you feel, and I'm sad for you. If you want someone to talk to, please email me at laurens.life.is@gmail.com. Being lonely is one of the worst feelings out there, and I do know how it feels. I hope you are able to overcome that loneliness and the fear that comes with it. Sending hugs

This is direct quote from "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs... I read it several months ago and it resonated with me, which is why I recognized it. Loneliness is terrifying, it is something that isn't simply cured by the company of others or a nice conversation. It sits deep in your heart and stays there until you decide to change something. Don't be afraid to ask for help... it is so wonderful when you finally feel loved and get out of the rut. Best of luck to you, stay strong and have faith that you will get through this time. You'll find a way through it.

I get that so much. You just told my story. If you're out there and so am I... Idk... maybe we aren't that alone? How do we find each other?

I have always wondered about loneliness. How is it that so many of us feel lonely when so many of us feel lonely? From a lonely person to another...if you want to talk, please feel free to send me an email: marisol2201@scbglobal.net We don't have to be lonely, after all :)

I am or I was in a similar situation as you. I chose not to let the loneliness overwhelm me, so I embarked on a positive lifestyle change - healthy diet, exercise, spend more time with family and friends, and allowed myself some hobby time. Basically, I kept busy. Now, I don't feel so lonely. I just feel disconnected and this frightens me more than feeling lonely. I am sharing this with you because, I hope you will find help. I prayed and worked hard for the loneliness to go away, but I am left with an empty feeling. Get help. Talk to someone. Find out what the true problem is. You and your family deserve to be happy.

"There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus." From personal experience, a relationship with God has been the only thing to diminish that sinking loneliness.
