Today, I read countless articles about the slain soldiers at Fort Hood. And it occurred to me that if these soldiers had been deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq and died there, their deaths wouldn't have made the front page of the newspaper. MMT

I like the way you think, Anonymous Matt.

And neither would the deaths of the inncocent civilians that died as a result of their actions.

"Nobody panics when the expected people get killed. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying." (The Joker)

We don't take death lightly, no matter who it is that dies. I'm writing this from Iraq, I'm an army medic working in a small Iraqi city and 3 days a week we preform a $1500 procedure on an Iraqi boy who got hit by a flare. We take care of the people we can.

Thank you Lashind-you are the hero.

This is so true and so sad. They deserve to be recognized for their sacrifice.

Thanks for saving one person among all the others you killed! I hate war. We didn't accomplish anything in Iraq. Arguably we brutalized Iraqis more than Saddam Hussein.
