I'm with you. I held my dad's hand as he passed and it was the first affectionate contact we'd had since I was a kid. RIP your dad and mine, and hopefully we both are more forthcoming with the remaining important people in our lives from now on.

Hey... My dad died between Dec 31 07 and Jan 01 09, sleeping. We were living in Oregon, and I had gone to visit my mother for Christmas 07. I left on Dec 23, and as I said good-bye to him, I hugged him and gave him a kiss on the forehead, too... and that was the last time I saw him. Oh, I have tears in my eyes, because even though my father and I were very close, I haven't kissed him either since I was a little girl. But despite all this, at least we did show our fathers our affection in the last moment we had seen them. It was funny, because I was only to be gone for two weeks, but I kissed him on the forehead... I don't ever do that. I read this post and just started crying. I just receive a call that my Dad is in the hospital for observation after a heart attack.

This the first post in this site that actually made me cry...It made me think of ma realtionship wed ma dad and how its hitting rock bottom now
