Today, I went to visit my dad. And as I stood at the foot of his grave, I realized that what I miss the most are the little things he'll never teach me. MMT

I'm 19 and my dad just died....I know EXACTLY how you feel

I was 15 when I lost my Dad. It's been 6 years - I've never stopped missing him but the hurt diminishes with time. I'm very sorry for your loss.

He was your Dad. His voice is still in your head, reminding you, looking out for you, and still teaching you. Because he was you Dad. Take care.

I feel that as well - my father died when I was 9. He had served in the Vietnam War and lived through an incredible era; I only wish he could be here to tell me all about it.

My dad died when I was nine. I'm nineteen as well, and I know what you're talking about. The hardest part of losing my father is the fact that he committed suicide. I don't talk about it much, but I think everyday about the things that I will never learn, that he took away from me, that I'll never get back because he took his life.

My dad died when I was 11, he had prostate cancer. I'm also 19 and I think about him everyday and I always find myself wondering if I would be someone else if he were still here. I always wonder what he would have taught me and if he would approve of who I am today.
