Today, my life changed forever when I couldn’t find an available visitor parking space in the visitor parking lot and instead foolishly decided to park in the alley adjacent to the office building just so I wouldn’t be late to the job interview. MMT

Oh, man. Rape?

THIS IS SO EXCRUCIATINGLY VAGUE. Nobody even mentioned rape. For all we know the person could have found a winning lottery ticket on the ground in the alley. So yeah, this really does make me think.

@ #3...the mood of the post is sad, so it's probably not the lottery ticket...but yeah it's not necessarily rape. this post MMT because it's so vague. do people really have the guts to post personal rape stories on MMT?

Huh? So uhhh, what happened?

Although this post is incredibly vague, I think we can infer that it was likely rape... because it's life-changing, takes place in an alley, and her name is "agirl" which is anonymous enough for a person to be comfortable sharing this kind of information.

@ting27: I'm pretty sure if she did get raped, it is not "all because she was in a hurry and not paying attention." Maybe it was because a man wanted to feel powerful and hurt an innocent woman. To agirl: If you did get raped, I'm so sorry and it takes a lot of courage to tell your story. Don't let anyone tell you it was your fault. Please find help if you need it.

We know you're trying to be deep and mysterious by being so vague in your post... but you're not, you're just being annoying. Explain fully or don't post. People on FML don't say "today something bad happened, FML!!" do they? No, they be specific.

ZenKeys88-that's very unfair of you to say. It may be she has a hard time admitting to herself what happened. Don't compare MMT to FML, FML is very different than MMT and it is okay if she doesn't say. Agirl- I am so sorry for what happened/

I'm so sorry. You weren't being at all foolish. I know it's really easy to blame yourself. I do it all the time. But it wasn't your fault. :(

She could have gotten a parking ticker, or ran over a homeless man or or or... So vague it is untrue. How this gets posted I don't know. What point is it trying to make? Be late to an interview rather than lazy? Phone ahead if you are going to be late? Worst post on this site.

If it was rape, it doesn't matter if you were being foolish or not. Not drinking, dressing modestly, safety in numbers, parking in well-lit areas, not talking to strange men, all that nonsense, will NOT prevent you from being raped. You can't follow a magical list they like to give young women to blame the victim for not stopping a crime before it happens, just to feel better about their own chances.

I just figured she got her car stolen

Your life doesn't change forever because your car is stolen. I guess the two above me are guys?

#15 - That is kind of sexist don't you think? Not all girls are sensitive and not all guys are senseless. And your life can change forever if you needed your car for the job and it got towed and because you cannot get money without the job she cannot afford getting the car back, or by getting in the car that much faster would have caused her to get home in time to catch a robbery or made her come home later to find her husband cheating on her. But yes, the first post is the most plausible choice, unfortunately, but I would rather hope that I am wrong in assuming so as well.

@16, aren't you sexist to assume I meant anything about sensitivity? 1 out of 3 women experience some form of sexual abuse in their lifetime, compared to 1 in 33 men. Statistically I assumed they had never been assaulted to equate the loss of property with bodily harm.

I just figured that she is saying that the visitor parking lot was full of other people looking for a job there for an interview. Although I'm not sure why the interviews wouldn't have been sceduled at different times and not sure why she found it foolish to park in an ally.

Many of you have fairly low standards for what constitutes life-changing...

Why are you people being so bitter towards this post? Whatever it is, she probably isn't comfortable stating it directly and that's completely fine. Have a heart.

If she wasn't comfortable posting it, she shouldn't have posted at all.

I am so amazed at how most people "assume". Assuming starts gossip, starts the spread of rumors and also, didn't your parents ever teach you...don't EVER assume cuz you'll only make an a&* out of U and ME.

Ok, how does anyone know what happened? The woman could have gotten raped or had her car stolen BUT she could have found a hundred dollar bill on the ground near her car so none of us know what really happened.
