This is so strange, because in 9th grade I was the only one who got into AP English out of the students they'd selected. A few months into 9th grade, however. . . I dropped out. Even "smart" people make mistakes or have issues in their lives that they don't know how to handle. Sometimes they wind up going down a road that you'd never suspect. I knew when I dropped out that if I got better and figured out how to handle the world.. that I'd be okay regardless of having a diploma or not. I have my GED and know exactly what I want to do in life now.
