I know how you feel. A close family friend was killed by a drunk driver, he gets out in 4 years. :(

I know that you must be hurting and that nothing can ever make up for what you lost that day, but these people do deserve a second chance. Yes they did something stupid and horrible but people can change.

I'm terribly sorry for everything you're going through and hope that you and your family stay strong throughout this tough time. However, although I know this is going to be hard to hear, I believe that forgiveness is the best medicine for any sadness and much more likely than not, the man who was responsible will never be the same again and probably feels pretty low too. I think forgiveness will help all of you :) Best of luck.

It's important to, at all costs, get away from the idea that people need to be punished for the sake of being punished. We have a poorly constructed prison system in America. I hope that one day you feel well enough to forgive him because he probably needs that just as much as you do.

I'm glad he's out on parole. I'm sorry your sentence is life-long. *hug*

I'm very sorry that you have suffered so much.

I'm so sorry for your suffering, but just know that he/she must be dealing with a life of guilt, and hopefully can better their lives from here on out.

That is not fair

My heart goes out to you and your family. Stay strong, I can relate. The girl that pushed my brother to suicide continues to walk around and have friends, while he and I miss memories we shoudlve created..
