This is very sad. There is hope, though. What type of cancer and how progressed it? If it's prostate cancer (sorry, I don't know your sex), you should be okay, as about 90% of men develop it already, and they tend to pass from other things. I hope that there are adequate treatment options available and you make it through.
Think of the silver lining if your prognosis isn't terminal: in retirement you can take as much time as you need to rest, won't have to worry about scheduling conflicts between work and chemotherapy or radiation, have the flexibility to seek alternative treatment options elsewhere in the country (or world). If this comes to the worse case scenario, you have the money to pack in experiences while you can.
i feel some serious love for you. it will be ok. remember, life is about quality, not quantity. peace.
This makes me remember of a neighbour I had years ago; He too worked hard his entire life, not allowing himself any luxury. When he finally decided it was time for him to enjoy life, he was diagnosed with brain cancer and died a few months later. I'll never forget the day he was buried, it was the first time I ever saw a casket so close.
I hope with all my heart that you'll be able to fight this, there's always hope!
Hey, now you can afford the treatments your insurance coverage denies.
